What are the best budget dual-sided ID card printers? Quite often we refer to budget ID card printers as ‘Entry Level’ Machines, however not all of these printers come with the same features. Dual-sided ID Card Printing is often one of these features that can sometime be missed. Can I upgrade my single sided ID card printer to a dual-sided ID card printer? 

Simply... Yes. This is very dependent on what ID card printer you have. Some ID card printers (MC Series form Matica for example) have a ‘flipper’ built in and to convert from single to dual-sided ID printing all that is required is an activation kit. However, some ID card printers do not have this and need to be either sent away to have a flipper installed, or this option is not available at all.  

For example, the Javelin DNA Series has room for a flipper, however, the printer needs sending to a trusted installer for them to fit it.  

What are the most common uses of dual sided ID card printers?

These Dual sided printers are ideal for Company ID cards, Business cards, visitor cards, rewards cards and many more. With certain brands such as Matica you can get a ribbon type (YMCKOK) that will just print black on the back of the card allowing you to have a design on the front and a barcode on the back.
