Below are our range of dual-sided ID card Printers. For more information about the Top ID Card Printers of 2023 look at our product guide.

What are the best budget dual-sided ID card printers? Quite often we refer to budget ID card printers as ‘Entry Level’ Machines, however not all of these printers come with the same features. Dual-sided ID Card Printing is often one of these features that can sometime be missed. Our favourite budget double sided ID card printers are the Matica MC110, the Dascom DC2300 and the Javelin DNA

Our budget dual-sided ID card Printers are all Direct-to-Card (DTC) and print edge to edge (read our product guide on what this means). DTC card printers are also our most popular type of plastic card printer.

Which double sided ID card printers offer the best ID card print quality?

If you are looking for superior print quality, while being capable of dual-sided ID printing, we would recommend a retransfer id card printer. The print process ensures you can print over-the-edge and on a wider range of materials; PVC, ABS, PET and polycarbonate.

Our retransfer printers are immensely popular with our customers looking for a card printer suitable for access control, government ID, driving licences etc.

Our bestselling Retransfer double sided ID card printers are the Matica MC660, Matica XID 8300, and XID 8600, Zebra ZXP 9 Series and the Dascom DC-7600.

Can I upgrade my single sided ID card printer to a dual-sided ID card printer?

Simply... Yes. This is very dependent on what ID card printer you have. Some ID card printers (MC Series form Matica for example) have a ‘flipper’ built in and to convert from single to dual-sided ID printing all that is required is an activation kit. However, some ID card printers do not have this and need to be either sent away to have a flipper installed, or this option is not available at all.

For example, the Javelin DNA Series has room for a flipper, however, the printer needs sending to a trusted installer for them to fit it.

What are the most common uses of dual sided ID card printers?

Our most popular dual-sided ID card printers are the direct-to-card (DTC) printers. These Dual sided printers are ideal for Company ID cards, Business cards, visitor cards, rewards cards and many more. With certain brands such as Matica you can get a ribbon type (YMCKOK) that will just print black on the back of the card allowing you to have a design on the front and a barcode on the back.

Secondly, our retransfer card printers are becoming increasingly popular with large corporate organisations, government applications and in some cases large event accreditation solutions, especially due to the double sided ID card printing and optional encoding options.
