Lane count is driven by your peak footfall and the acceptable queue time. As a rule of thumb, a single lane suits small offices and side entrances up to around 30 people per minute; two lanes handle busy corporate receptions and mid-size buildings; and three or more lanes are recommended for airports, stadiums and large terminals with heavy, bi-directional traffic. You should also allow at least one wider accessibility lane for wheelchair users and deliveries.
