Matica decided to launch a new line of consumables to compliment the then release of their brand-new range of desktop card printers (MC Series), and to reconcile products and new part codes alike. This included launching a second line of consumables for the world renown XID retransfer ID card printer series, which were more competitively priced, without substituting quality or reliability of print.

The chromXpert Diamond Line is perfect for those customers looking for a quality ID card print, whilst remaining competitively priced to keep up with the cheaper, lesser quality competitors in the marketplace.

Do the Diamond line chromXpert consumables work with the older line of Matica XID series printers?

100% You can use the Platinum or Diamond Line chromXpert consumables on ALL the Matica XID series, old and new, without the need for any hardware, software or firmware changes. You simply load and go printing!

Are Matica planning to discontinue the origional line of consumables?

No. As mentioned above the reason for the launch of the second line was to compliment the existing line of ID card printer ribbons and the MC Series of desktop ID card printers. Some might ask why do Matica continue with the origional line of consumables if they are cheaper and the same quality. The simple answer is that some customers prefer Diamond Line and some customers prefer Platinum Line, and the opinion varies from continent to continent.
